William Russell Flint (Manner Of) Signed Nude Lady Oil Portrait Painting

Item Ref

This is a 1920-30 oil painting on canvas laid on to a wooden panel and depicts a beautiful young lady lying nude down by a lake amongst the plants.
Very much in the manner and style of William Russell Flint and although bearing a signature which closely resembles the famous artist, cannot be firmly attributed to him.
The decorative gilt frame with oval mount may not be the original as it looks to be adapted to fit with wooden batons Verso filling the space around the main board. The frame appears to be around the 1950ís in design.
It is thought that more of the original painting is now slightly hidden by the oval mount and that originally
the painting would have been in an almost square format.
Whilst the nude study presents itself as a possible copy of one of Flints well known works, we can find no original versions from which this might have been copied.
